Frequently Asked Questions
What is Requestin?
Requestin is the ultimate tool for any band taking live song requests. Audience members are shown a list of songs the band knows, their price, and then directed to a high-converting checkout screen. The request is then sent to all members of the band in real time.
How much does Requestin cost?
Requestin is FREE for bands to use. There is no subscription required.
Are there any fees taken from my requests?
No. All payment processing fees and Requestin fees are added to the customer's total, so the price you set for a request is the price you receive for all US-based payment methods and cards.
How do I get paid?
Requestin uses PayPal for payment processing. All transactions go directly into your business PayPal account, and in most cases are available immediately.
What payment methods can audience members use?
Audience members can send money to bands via PayPal, Venmo, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and card.
Do audience members need to download an app?
No. Requestin is designed from the ground up to make requesting a song as simple and quick as possible for audience members, increasing conversions. Audience members do not have to log in, provide their phone number, or download an app to make a request.
How does the audience find my song list?
Each band gets a unique link and QR code. Display the QR code at your venue, put the link on your Linktree — anywhere your audience can scan or tap to get to your song list instantly.
How do I build my song list?
We have a variety of advanced setlist management tools to get bands up and running as quickly as possible. Band leaders can import song lists via CSV file, search and add songs, or send and receive setlists from other Requestin users.
How does it work when I have fill-in musicians?
Requestin users can send their setlist to other musicians — both Requestin users and non-users — before a gig. Those players check off the songs they're comfortable playing or singing. At gig time, the setlist dynamically adjusts based on who is on the gig, so when a request comes in, you already know everyone on stage can play it.
Can audience members request a song not on the list?
Yes — if you enable custom requests, audience members can type in any song they want and submit a tip. You stay in control: custom requests are flagged separately so you can decide on the spot whether to take them. You can also disable custom requests entirely and restrict your audience to only what's on your song list.
